Yen Falls to Lowest Levels Since 1986 - BARRON'S

The U.S. dollar was worth nearly 161.90 yen, which would be its highest close since Dec. 26, 1986, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Earlier this month, the Bank of Japan raised its key lending rate to 1% amid inflationary pressures in the wake of the Iran war. "May industrial production and jobless rate data (both Tuesday) will inform expectations about the pace of normalization by the BoJ," writes Rosenberg Research's David Rosenberg.
