US carries out airstrikes on Islamic State 'scum' in Nigeria who targeted Christians, Trump says - SKY NEWS
The US president said the strikes, which were carried out in cooperation with the Nigerian government, were "powerful and deadly".
The US has launched airstrikes against what Donald Trump has called Islamic State militant "scum" in Nigeria.
US Africa Command said the strikes were conducted "in coordination with Nigerian authorities" in Sokoto State.
A US official told the Reuters news agency the strikes killed multiple targets.
