Naira appreciates in parallel market, trades at N1,550/$ - NIGERIAN TRIBUNE

The Naira on Monday appreciated to N1,550 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,560 per dollar last weekend.

However, at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the currency weakened as it closed at N1,534.8 per dollar.

Data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) revealed that the official exchange rate rose to N1,534.8 per dollar from N1,530 per dollar last Friday, reflecting a depreciation of N4.8.

As a result, the gap between the parallel market and NFEM rates narrowed to N15.2 per dollar, down from N30 per dollar recorded last weekend.
