Market Cap nears N88trn as NGX ends 6-day losing streak - DAILY TRUST
Veritas Kapital (VERITASKAP) and Ellah Lakes (ELLAHLAKES) led the gainers with 10% each, while Austin Laz (AUSTINLAZ) and Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals (NEIMETH) topped the losers, shedding 9.75% and 8.33% respectively.
At the local bourse yesterday, trading activity also strengthened, with volumes surging to 1.8 billion shares compared to 482 million shares traded the previous day.
With regards to the currency update, the naira traded between N1,508.00 and N1,529.00/$ and closed at N1,514.87/$ (+0.44%). Gross external reserves slipped 0.28% to $41.30bn (as of 29 Aug), according to analysts at InvestNaija.
According to the analysts, “FX stayed firm in a tight range. Slightly lower reserves suggest limited room for heavy intervention, but near-term sentiment remains steady.”
