Colombia Central Banker Flags Peso Rally Risk to Rate Outlook - BLOOMBERG

Colombia’s central bank is scrutinizing the peso’s surge to determine whether the rally reflects solid fundamentals or speculative inflows, one of its newest board members said in an interview.

Laura Moisá, an economist who joined the seven-member board in February, told Bloomberg News that policymakers are evaluating the impact of unprecedented finance ministry actions, including its purchases of local debt at discounted prices to drive interest costs down.
