The Nigerian naira depreciated significantly against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,380.7066 at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Tuesday, 28th April, 2026.

According to the data shared on the official platform of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,380.7066 per dollar and closed at N1,383.0000 per dollar.

Tribune Online reports that the Nigerian currency  on Monday, 27th April 2026 traded at an NFEM rate of N1,364.2374. Comparing this with that of Tuesday, the naira depreciated by at least N16 on Tuesday.    

At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar exchange rate for both the buying rate and the selling rate remained the same with the previous trading rate on Monday, 27th April, 2026.

According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Tuesday, 28th April, 2026, was N1,390 and N1,398 per dollar for buying and selling rates, respectively.
