SEPTEMBER 13, 2025

The Naira returned back to appreciation against the dollar on Friday at the official foreign exchange market to end the week on a good note.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s foreign exchange data showed that the Naira strengthened on Friday to N1,501.5 against the dollar, up from N1,502.13 traded on Thursday.

This means that the Naira gained slightly by N0.60 on a day-to-day basis.

Meanwhile at the black market, the naira depreciated to N1,537 per dollar on Friday, down from the N1,530 recorded the previous day.

DAILY POST reports that in the week under review, despite Thursday’s depreciation, the Naira gained N13.4 against the dollar on a week-on-week basis when compared to N1,514.9 traded last week Friday.

The development comes as the country’s external reserves swelled to $41.66 billion as of September 11, 2025.
