Naira records two consecutive appreciations against US dollar - DAILY POST

The naira on Tuesday recorded two consecutive appreciations against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened on Tuesday to N1,419.66 per dollar, up from N1,423.17 traded last week Friday.

This means that in the last 48 hours, the naira gained N3.51 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained stable at N1490 per dollar, the same exchange rate recorded on Monday.

This comes as Nigeria’s foreign reserves rose to $45.74 billion as of January 12, 2026, up from $45.67 billion recorded last week Friday, according to the apex bank’s data.
